When you beat the game on any difficulty you unlock a New Game + option that allows you to continue with all the guns you've unlocked and your Forge abilities. In order to grab things above you, such as ammo crates, salvage points or anything else, just position yourself under where the object is, jump and melee in the air and you'll be able to grab the desired object. EXO suit rather then jumping in/out in the middle of the field try standing against a wall and when you exit or enter the EXO suit you won't have to deal with the in/out animations.
